Boston Marathon 2009

113th Boston Marathon was run in 2009 by 25000 runners from US and all over the world. The winners ran the 25 mile marathon in just two hours and eight minutes. That is an amazing clip of over 12 miles per hours for the duration. For a person who can only run 3 miles at half the speed, this performance is beyond human. Many runners run it for raising money for charities. This concept of running a marathon for raising funds is something that is worthy of emulation in other parts of the world.

I have attached a few photographs of the marath0n at the 12.5 mile mark at Wellesley. Just watching the runners is an uplifting experience.
